General Office Security

Security Checklist

The following is a list of general office security suggestions, which are offered to you as an aid in establishing your internal security procedures:

  1. Keep the police, fire department and building security telephone numbers posted.
  2. When working alone in the office at night, lock the front door to prevent anyone else from entering.
  3. Double check to see that all doors are securely locked before you leave.
  4. Insist on identification from repairmen who come to work in your office.
  5. Store keys systematically in a secured wall cabinet of either your own design or one that conforms to a commercial key control system.
  6. Restrict office keys to those who actually need them and keep complete, up-to-date records of the distribution of all office keys.
  7. Establish uniform procedures for collecting keys prior to the termination of employees.

Tenants are responsible for locking / securing their suite and notifying the Management Office of any and all hardware malfunctions and/or personnel changes. Security guards are not authorized to grant suite access to tenants or their guests. It is recommended that tenants carry their key and key card at all times.

Suspicious Activity / Security Concern

In the event of any suspicious activity or other security concern, tenants should report the incident immediately to the appropriate authority and to the Management Office.
